Job Summary

Child’s Play Therapeutic Homecare provides Occupational, Speech, Physical Therapy and Private Duty and Skilled Nursing services to children in San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, the Rio Grande Valley, East Texas and the surrounding areas. Child’s Play is seeking Occupational Therapists in San Antonio, TX to join our staff of highly-qualified therapists and assistants who bring a great deal of experience and diverse backgrounds to our agency and help us meet each child’s individual needs. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides occupational therapy for homebound patients who are situated in an environment where treatment goals may be continued and reinforced
  • Participates in the development of the patient’s plan of care in consultation with the agency staff
  • Performs and teaches selected rehabilitative procedures as ordered by the physician
  • Provides written instructions to patients for activities to be carried on between visits
  • Assesses the patient's and family's total need and when necessary, makes referrals to available community resources to meet these needs.
  • Admits and evaluates patients as needed.
  • Keeps a complete and accurate record on all patients receiving occupational therapy services by completing a clinical note on every visit which is incorporated into the clinical record on a weekly basis.
  • Participates in patient's care conference and in in-services.
  • Obtains physician verbal orders as needed in regards to occupational therapy services.
  • Supervises occupational therapist assistants by assigning occupational task through written instructions, reviews the occupational therapy assistant notes, or care conference or making onsite visits to observe the assistant demonstrate the tasks.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be available to service after school patients between the hours of 2-8pm and weekends as necessary
  • Must be available to drive the San Antonio area to service new referrals (mileage reimbursement included)
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Texas
  • Bilingual is a PLUS (fluent in both English and Spanish)
